About Stephanie Gould, LICSW

I'm Stephanie Gould, LICSW MPH, a therapist with more than 15 years of experience working with adults, teens, and couples.

I believe therapy works best when you feel both understood and challenged. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about what's happening in your life, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to make meaningful changes.

My background in both clinical social work and public health shapes the way I think about mental health. We don't exist in isolation, and our relationships, families, communities, identities, and life circumstances all influence how we experience ourselves and the world around us. Context shapes us in ways we don’t always see. I bring that broader perspective into our work while staying focused on the person sitting in front of me.

My approach is integrative and grounded in psychodynamic and humanistic therapy. I believe meaningful change comes from understanding yourself within your environment—not just learning strategies to manage difficult moments.

Depending on what you're working through, I may also draw from approaches including IFS, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and feminist therapy.

More than anything, therapy should feel like a relationship where you can show up as yourself. Finding the right therapist matters, and I encourage you to reach out so we can see whether we're a good fit.

The Right Mix of Support And Challenge

The right therapist can offer something that's hard to find anywhere else: a relationship where you feel understood, supported, and genuinely challenged to grow.

Therapy isn't just about learning new ways to cope. It's also about understanding yourself more deeply—where your patterns come from, how they show up in your relationships, and what might be keeping you stuck. From there, you can begin to make different choices and create the changes you're looking for.

I believe the therapeutic relationship matters. You deserve a therapist who can meet you with empathy while also being willing to challenge you when it's needed. Together, we'll create a space where you can be honest, curious, and work toward a life that feels more like your own.
